伯克利大二女众生相(二)
美国大学生对课外活动跟课堂学习一样重视，因而丰富多彩 。女儿宿舍里七位大二生，六位参加了至少一个以上的社团(club)或兄弟(姐妹)会(fraternity)活动， 只有一位成绩不错，学计算机的印度女，什么活动也不参加，她唯一的 爱好，如果算爱好的话，就是看电视。课外活动有专业的和非专业的，象想学医的印度女，参加了化学兄弟会，白女大一就参加了生物工程的club, 现在是领导之一了。非专业更多，除了娱乐运动的外，更多的是做慈善的团体。
来自马里兰的华女，大一就成功参加了Berkeley Consulting(B.C). 这是一个由Haas商学院和学生会组织的大名鼎鼎的非赢利商业管理咨询机构，它的客户主要是500强企业，象GE, 微软等，这些世界级的大企业尤其爱把与年轻一代有关的项目交给他们 。加人这个机构极难，只有2%机率，能进的绝对是伯克利学生中的娇娇者。这华女有个印度裔高中男同学，也在计算机系，被她鼓动也申 请了B.C, 竞也被录取了，看来物以类聚，学霸总是扎堆的。
另一华女，大二开始本想去一心理学实验室打工，每小时20多美元。 同时她亦申请了去著名公益基金会做义工，这个基金会是专门给穷人免费打官司及咨询的, 全美各分部每年只接受300位大学生来做义工， 许多资深的律师也在这里义工，同时指导这些大学生进行工作。 这对义工大学生是难得的机会，除了有直接工作体会外， 也能面对面得到资深律师的指导。华女最后选择了去这里做义工， 她觉得这样更有意义，尤其会有益于她末来的法律生涯。 她一年中一共要做300小时义工，没有酬劳， 却有帮助穷人及行善的快乐，还有在学校里碰不到的挑战。许多人认为这个社会是势利(snob)的，对穷人漠视， 人们对律师印象也不佳，但却有那么一群精英律师及跟随者，牺牲他们每小时能挣数百甚至上千美元的时间，无私地奉献帮助穷人，这真是让人敬佩的事。
七室友还有一位热衷于舞蹈，尤其嘻哈(Hip hop)舞, 她常是club中最早到，最晚离开的。嘻哈舞也是大学生中流行的舞蹈，每次活动总是人满为患，可以想象到，在一个大礼堂里，两三千人同时跳着嘻哈舞，那场景有多震撼！此室友有次跳完舞， 玩兴未尽，又去喝了点酒，回来走路不稳的样子，被一巡警看到，警察不放心，要把她送到宿舍，她告诉警察她没有喝酒，不需要护送。她上了宿舍楼，还跟警察大声叫嚷再见，此时二男生窜出来叫住警察，原来这女生走错到对面的男生宿舍了。

I wear size 8 shoe -orderd size 8 -normal width .I m 5'7" -130 lbs . They fit perfect . Little snug at first as are all new shoes . Hope this helps with concerning ordering a size larger issue .

This is my third pair of these shoes. I have wide feet so I have a hard time finding good shoes that fit well. These work great and each pair lasts me at least twice as long as previous shoes I have tried. They are very comfortable.

Came fast....one shoe was perfect...the other had damage on the toe...tried scrubbing and got most off, but it was a melting type of damage on the toe of the shoe....never had that happen before. Will keep since it was a good price and a Christmas gift.
